Now that we got that out of the way... our favorite uses for Bar Keepers Friend in your home.
1. Kitchen Sinks!
In our experience Bar Keepers Friend has proven to be the best way to clean a kitchen sink. Whether it is stainless, porcelain, composite sinks and copper sinks... BKF will tackle any coffee stains, food marks or cookware marks. All you need to do is wet your sink with water, sprinkle some BKF in the bottom of your sink and a dollop of dish soap on a blue scratches sponge and scrub away. Rinse clean and buff with a clean and dry microfiber cloth.
2. Bathtubs & Shower Trays!
BKF works wonders on soap scum and scuffs. Our team uses Bar Keepers Friend to safely clean porcelain and acrylic tubs and trays. Just wet the tub or tray (we like to spray some multi-purpose to disinfect first) then sprinkle BKF on top. It works best to let the product "dwell" for a minute or two then scrub, rinse and dry. Buff with a microfiber cloth to shine.
3.Glass Shower Doors!
After a few years- no matter how many times you clean your shower door with glass cleaner. It never looks crystal clear! Why!? This can be because of hard water spots or mineral deposits. Wet a blue scratches sponge and squirt some BKF liquid/soft cleanser on the sponge and scrub the glass. Rinse and buff with a dry cloth. Looks like new! This is one of our tricks for a deep clean or move out clean.
4.Faucets & Taps!
We use Bar Keepers Friend to remove any soap scum, hard water and rust on faucets and taps. Just sprinkle, rub with a scratches sponge, rinse and buff. Works like a miracle!
5. Tile & Linoleum Floors!
Do you have a linoleum or tile floor that you have mopped countless times and it still looks dingy? We recommend getting on your hands and knees and trying out Bar Keepers Friend. You will need a large soft brush, a bucket and some dish soap. Wet the area, then sprinkle BKF on the floor, dish soap on your brush and scrub. Rinse and buff dry. Great trick for a deep clean or move out.
6.Your Dishwasher!
Use Bar Keepers Friend to clean the soap scum and hardware stains in your dishwasher.
7. Glass Cooktops!
Glass cooktops can be very difficult to clean. Bar Keepers Friend does a great job of loosening up hardened stains. Wet and sprinkle BKF. Scrub until stains loosen. A trick we like to do with glass cooktops is use a razor blade to scrape away cooked debris. Be careful and mindful while using a razor blade.
8. Anything stainless steel!
Any stainless steel surface will come out looking beautiful after some Bar Keepers Friend TLC... Any fridge, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, oven will benefit from the use of BKF. Wet the surface with the SOFT side of a sponge only then sprinkle and wipe. Wipe clean then buff any streaks out with a clean dry microfiber cloth.
9. Pots & Pans!
If the undersides of your cookware are looking burnt then it might be time to clean with Bar Keepers Friend. Not only does it look bad, it could damage your stove and affect the way the heat distributes. Sprinkle on the bottom, mix with some dish soap and scrub with a scratches sponge. Rinse and dry. Good as new!
10. Toilet bowls!
Last but not least... Bar Keepers Friend can naturally clean your toilet bowls. If you have a stubborn ring we highly recommend using BKF. What we do is drain the toilet bowl first, then sprinkle Bar Keepers Friend in the bowl. While wearing gloves, reach in there with a scratches sponge and scrub the ring away. To rinse, just get a bucket of water and pour down the toilet. It will naturally flush and fill itself up again. Guaranteed to look new!
